Nicky Dawson
Nicky Dawson Programme Manager
Nicky Dawson is the Programme Manager for Norfolk Children's Fund. Her first honours degree is in Graphic Design, with postgraduate qualifications in Journalism, and teaching. Nicky has worked as an editor of children's and women's magazines and as an art director within advertising agencies and for the central office of information where she was famous for designing the toilet signs for the Duke and Duchess of York's wedding.

Nicky then worked as a teacher for Essex and Kent LEA's moving from a Senior Management position in a Kent High School to take up her current post. She also has extensive experience of working as a volunteer e.g St Vincent de Paul Society for physically and mentally disabled children, as a Girl Guide leader, Duke of Edinburgh Award instructor, International Youth Projects Camps art teacher. She lived in Canada for a time working with North American Indians.

She is married with one child and enjoys as hobbies arts and crafts, gardening and horses.
Gina MacColl
Gina MacColl Contracts Assistant
Gina joined Norfolk Children's Fund in March 2003 as an Administrative Assistant, which involves offering administrative support to the Project Manager and her team. She became Contracts Assistant in August 2004, and supports the Performance Management Officer.

Born and brought up in Harrow, Middlesex, Gina moved to Norwich in 1978 with her husband, Arthur and children, Mark and Kirsty. Gina and her husband both worked for HMSO and their jobs moved to Norwich as part of the Civil Service dispersal from London. During the 26 years Gina worked for HMSO she undertook a variety of tasks, including payroll, administration, secretarial and pro-active sales.

In 1997 Gina left HMSO to join the Tidy Britain Group (now known as EnCams), administering the Seaside Awards and the International Blue Flag for beaches and Marinas.


Brian Butcher
Brian Butcher Independent Chair of Norfolk Children's Fund Board
Brian joined NCF in August 2002. Brian is the independent chair of Norfolk Children's Fund partnership board. He has lived in Norfolk all his life and retired from the Norfolk Constabulary in 1996 after 32 years service, having reached the rank of chief superintendent. In a varied career, Brian served as the head of the force community relations department and was associated with the introduction and development of a number of partnership schemes associated with young people and crime prevention.
Since leaving the police force, Brian has worked for two voluntary organisations in senior positions. This has included involvement with national policy developments, such as equal opportunities and change management.
From January 2004, Brian will be the lead research fellow on the S.O.U.L project (Soft Outcomes Universal Learning) based at City College, Norwich. This project will look at quality issues arising from training and development in the voluntary sector and is funded by the Community Fund.
Apart from being a trustee of a charity and a honorary company secretary, Brian is a volunteer with British Red Cross. His other interests include travel, theatre and life long support for Norwich City Football Club.
Sue Alexander
Sue Alexander Financial Management Officer
Susan joined NCF in September 2004 as Finance Assistant and became Financial Management Officer in October 2005. Sue has lived in Norfolk for 29 years, prior to that lived in Leeds.

Susan has always worked with accounts and in 2001 gained a Masters Degree in Business Administration at the UEA Norwich. Susan has worked as a self employed accountant for 12 years, dealing with sole traders and partnerships accounts, prior to that Susan worked in the oil industry, manufacturing, the Health Authority and was Unit Administrator for the elderly in a housing with care complex for Social Services.

Susan has two children and a tortoise. She enjoys gardening and her grandchildren.
